Welcome. Our school is located next to White Mountain Hill, which sits along the Fish River. White Mountain is about 70 miles from Nome, Alaska. Our school enrollment is approximately 50 students, from kindergarten to twelfth grade. The headstart, a program 3 & 4 year olds, is overseen by the regional nonprofit, Kawerak, Inc.
The White Mountain school day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:30, for 1st - 12th grade. The kindergarten day ends at 2:30 p.m. We serve breakfast to our students from 8:20 - 8:50 a.m. Lunch service begins at 11:000 a.m., for the younger students, and final lunches are served around noon, for the high school and elder meal program.
After school, we offer study time and extra-curricular sports. Sports include cross country running, mixed-six volleyball, basketball, cross country skiing, and Native Youth Olympics.
Our community is actively involved in school activities. We are proud of our school, staff, and students.
